Good value for the price

I needed binders to organize notes for grad school classes... nothing fancy, because I am on a very limited budget. I bought this binder because of the low price and was very pleased to find that it was the same quality as higher priced binders. Sure, it doesn't come in all of the fancy colors, but the rings fit together precisely and the cover is washable, and it suits my needs very well.

It's not the ring mechanism.....

Avery makes some very good products; we are loyal purchasers. Regarding the binders, we've tried the economy, durable and heavy duty. The problem is NOT with the ring mechanism, it's with the construction of the binder itself. Our son's who use them for school, taking them in and out of their backpacks daily (they use a separate binder for each class), the binder lasts a little over one semester and these are the HEAVY DUTY ones. The binder cover and where it opens and closes falls apart.
I will recommend with reservations. If there's something better close to the same price, we'll switch.

I used a 1/2 inch binder for a talk I had to give. I put the pages in plastic paper savers and they turned easily without being obnoxious. I could lay it on the podium and it laid flat. I'm using the 1 1/2" binder to file replies from all my classmates regarding a class reunion. I have alphabetical dividers that work just great!
