I needed binders to organize notes for grad school classes... nothing fancy, because I am on a very limited budget. I bought this binder because of the low price and was very pleased to find that it was the same quality as higher priced binders. Sure, it doesn't come in all of the fancy colors, but the rings fit together precisely and the cover is washable, and it suits my needs very well.

Avery makes some very good products; we are loyal purchasers. Regarding the binders, we've tried the economy, durable and heavy duty. The problem is NOT with the ring mechanism, it's with the construction of the binder itself. Our son's who use them for school, taking them in and out of their backpacks daily (they use a separate binder for each class), the binder lasts a little over one semester and these are the HEAVY DUTY ones. The binder cover and where it opens and closes falls apart.
I will recommend with reservations. If there's something better close to the same price, we'll switch.

      Bought this for my 4th grade son. Being a boy, he is rather "hard" on most of his school supplies. So far, this binder seems to be holding-up for his uses. It's large enough to hold his school papers, yet isn't so big that it will not fit into his backpack. Also, he really liked the color.

            These binders are exceptional organizing tools. I use a different color for different functions: Green binders hold garden information; white binders hold clipped recipes; appropriate holiday colors hold clipped items pertaining to each holiday of the year; black binders hold household appliance information in one place for warranty/repair/maintainance information; favorite magazines are kept together, in order, and in good condition for reuse or sharing.
