I own lots of these

The D-Ring Binders are great if you're going to be using them for holding coursework or any other activity where you're writing on the pages a lot. Compared to regular 3-Ring Binders, they are much easier to write in and don't tear up your papers as much. They are also better if you're collecting a lot of them across a shelf. They stack across like regular hard back books unlike regular 3-Ring Binders so you don't have as much wasted space. Unfortuantely, the price point on them is really painful compared to regular 3-Ring Binders. If the cost delta were less, I'd never buy another regular 3-Ring Binder again.

I am very disappointed at the replaced Item 318428 Model 79-199/79-799. The "old" Avery Model 79799 (maroon & yellow cover)was perfect. The "new" blue covered binder has very poor quality on the edging where the clear plastic seals to the white binder. As the seal separates, the binder does, too, exposing the cardboard underneath!

I just bought these binders about a week ago and have no long-term experience with them. My current purpose is to hold photographs that will be donated to a museum, where I expect them to get fairly heavy usage, which is why I bought heavy-duty binders. They look well-made, but I cannot say how durable they will actually be.
