Comments about Federal Warranty 1-Year Product Replacement Plan for Calculators $79 - $149.99:

I recv'd a Calculator Replacement Plan brochure while purchasing a $109.99 TI-84+SE which states "Save 50%. Now just [$] for back to school (Reg [$])" with SKU 689244 for a 1-year plan cost. Sales person #1604313 informed me the brochure is in error as it's actually a 2-year plan cost, on top of the 1-year warranty that already comes with the calculator. I asked her to explain, she restated it's really an added 2 years and to look online. Well, this online document with the same SKU states 1-year is [$] and makes no mention to 50% off. So it seems reasonable to infer that my having paid [$] at a 50% savings is indeed a 2 year *additional* coverage, but of course we know how good inferences are when one tries to explain this nonsense to sales personnel. Truth is I should be getting an additional 2% of 2 years coverage b/c I paid [$] (at 50% meaning twice the coverage) instead of the [$] this web page mentions. So what needs to happen? Staples needs to read their own comment board, fix the problem, and email or mail me a statement that shows the coverage I just purchased is indeed for 2 *additional* years. Normally I would recommend this to a friend, but since I have no paper document that clarifies what my coverage really is, I won't.

Comments about Federal Warranty 1-Year Product Replacement Plan for Calculators $79 - $149.99:

Bought this protection plan for my sons calculator being told that it would cover if he broke it afterall he is a kid the associate told me. How wrong this plan is it only covers normal wear and tear....this brings about the question what is normal wear and tear for a calculator....is it the worn embossed numbers on the keys, my sons screen must have been pushed on and now has a heavy what is like ink covering 1/4 of screen.I wish I was told the truth when I bought the plan. Customer Service just apologized refunded my plan fee but I am still out a calculator. I am sorry I trusted the associate, guess it was a good sales pitch cause I got suckered!

The clerk told me that if my calculator is lost or stolen, it would be replaced with this plan. Is that true?

      • A:

Dont believe that, I was also told that if the calculator was dropped or lost it would be covered. The associate also said he is a kid this plan covers all...lost or broken. I am now sitting here with a calculator with a broken screen and they wont replace it. The plan only covers normal wear and tear ...so what is normal wear and tear????
