I purchased the product at Staples, on a whim, since I had a Store "Fill the Bag " coupon and got a 20 percent discount.
First time I saw an energy saver bulb with a three way switch and thought it ideal for bedroom use.
Existing standard non energy saving bulb in Lamp had burned out higher two stages of illumination and only lit on 50 watt mode.
Product, GE energy Smart, was attractively packaged and drew my attention.
The bulb was enclosed in a protectively sealed hard plastic cover and internally inserted in a colorful cardboard sleeve which contained concise advertising messages of the product's uses and economic savings advantages.

CFLs represent a significant saving in energy--you can actually get MORE light for LESS cost. However, they may be only a "bridge" until LEDs become cost-competitive. CFLs require special Hazardous Waste disposal.

Great bulb, just did not fit into one of my two lamps
