This monitor stand is sturdy and designed much better than the original stand that I received from HP. It was much cheaper at Staples than at Office Depot and it's much more functional and user friendly than the original stand. It adjusts easily and is easy to assemble. It's a great buy. The only downside is that it only holds a 16 lb. monitor. I hope that 3M will design a similar stand that will hold larger monitors in the near future because I will be buying one for every new monitor that I buy in the future.

It works, but could be better.

Works great except when in portrait mode. The monitor will tilt and not stay n place very well. If you mess with it you might get it to work. Still a good product.

            I use four monitors connected to my PC, 1-42" LCD wall mounted for Presentation-Landscape, 2-23" LCD 1080p w/ATSC tuners-Landscape for application programming etc.-Desktop, 1-15" monitor for Portait viewing only-Desktop. The only downside that I found was the minimum weight required for your monitor in order for the height counter-spring to work correctly in other words your monitor could be not heavy enough. Even though the counter weight spring is screw adjustable to compensate for different weight of your monitor to allow smooth movement of the monitor to be height adjusted up and down for a travel distance of approx. 6-8 inches in portrait mode for my monitor. If your monitor doesn't have enough weight then this feature won't work properly, It will always be in the upper limit height position. I currently use a 15" LCD flat screen PC monitor strictly for portrait mode viewing. Solution, add your own counter weight on the back side of your monitor, problem solved. Otherwise, I've been looking for an item like this for a while that allows me to rotate a monitor between portrait and landscape on the desktop. Another plus is the fact that you don't have to mount your monitor on a wall in order to maximize desktop space. A very nice and very practical product.

              I bought this for a second monitor -- 23". The base that came with it blocked the grommet on my desk and the loop design of this stand's base allows the cables to pass through the grommet and to the back of the monitor inconspicuously.

              I am pleased with the design and quality.

                  No, even at the lowest setting for this monitor stand it will not fit under your counter. With less than an inch I am not aware of any monitor stand that will lower that far. Your best option maybe a wall mount.
