It is hard to find CFL PAR bulbs for a can. While this is NOT a PAR shape, it does emit a lot of light, even in a can. Ideal for illuminating a working surface.

Bought this because I was always using two of the smaller CFL bulbs where possible for increased light. At home this is an excellent bulb for the garage or basement, especially if there are no windows to let in some light!

Bought on clearance @ my staples. Always wanted to try one of the 150W incandecent-replacement CFLs. Since it only pulls around 42W, you can put it in fixtures that would otherwise be limited to 60W, however, CFLs do require better ventalation for cooling. So, don't put CFLs in can lighting, and if you have a fixture with a glass or platic cover, best leave it off when using CFLs. I personally had a light fixture hanging in my computer workspace area that supports up to 5 60W incans. I had 4 23W CFLs, and replaced them all with this one 42W CFL.

Only issue with it, and all CFLs is that when it's cold, it's dim and takes awhile to warm up. Even after being left off for extended periods it comes right on, but slowly gets a lil brighter. This is something common to all flourescent lights, and isn't a downside to this product in particular.

As long as the price is right, I'd buy it again.

A bulky CFL bulb that may not fit all light fixtures. I don't see the difference between this one and a 26-Watt CFL bulb (100 Watt Equivalent) in terms of brightness. So far, only CFL bulbs labeled as "Dayt Light" are recommended.
