          Pleased that I bought this but the CD Software for USB connection to computer CPU allowing automatic shutdown of computer with loss of AC power was missing. Will have my son download software off of Internet the next time he is here.

            APC has been in this business (probably) longer than anyone, and they continue to produce high-quality, stable and supportable products.

            This is actually in the BackUPS PRO product-line (I don't think the Staples description says that). It has great run-time, build-quality and features. There are cheaper, but for VA/Watts and reliability, you will not go wrong with APC's units (and this one is no exception). If you are investing in a UPS, then pay a few dollars extra and get the quality and reliability you need.

            The only reason it's not 5-stars is that the d/l of the PowerChute sw was not as straightforward as it should have been (install was easy, but finding the right version was harder than it needed to be). They should either include a disk or provide a direct link in the docs.
