I bought this UPS after the breaker kept tripping in my apartment. I use a Bi-Pap at night, and having it go off was really unpleasant. Now I know that the alarm will wake me, while keeping the machine going until I can reset the breaker.

Failed with "Overload" after 8 months

Used as backup for network peripherals (router, switches, etc). After 8 months of continuous successful use, the unit failed. It now beeps continuously with flashing Overload light. The unit can be reset, but then beeps overload again a minute later -- even with nothing plugged in! APC better step up their quality control.
