This is one great machine. I actually couldn't believe that for that price it came with 8GB of RAM and thought it was a typo made by Staples, but decided to give it a shot; I'm soooo glad I did! It comes with everything stated in the description. It's fast, has tons of storage space, can run quickbooks, autoCAD and surf the net all at the same time without it freezing on me or getting hot. The battery life is great too. I love it and couldn't be happier with it. I Highly recommend it for business use.

Wireless would suddenly stop working

About one week after we bought the laptop, the wireless connection started acting up. After booting up the computer, the connection would connect/disconnect throughout the time it was on. Now, after having it serviced by Staples, it will take upwards of 3 or more minutes until it finally connects. Usually, it stays connected once it does so. I know it's not the router in the house, because there are two other laptop that run flawlessly on it.
We're well outside of the two week period of getting it exchanged or being refunded by Staples. And Asus is of even less help. All 8 customer support people I've spoken with have given me different suggestions. I've been growled at by an unhappy Asus employee, been breathed heavily in my ear by another. And my wife runs a blog on this laptop. So, what will become of her site while Asus "looks" at it? Don't waste your time with this one.

I am a bit disappointed in the speed but for the price it is a good value. The touchpad is overly sensitive for me. Otherwise the machine has been fine so far. The extra memory is great for me as I tend to have several programs functioning at the same time.

Bought this nice ASUS laptop to do video editing on the road. I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and most laptops I've tried can't handle the HD editing. No issues what-so-ever. Perfect compliment to my ASUS desktop.

The battery lift on Staples specs says it lasts 3 hrs. Does anyone have other information. Looking for a much longer life on battery.

  The standard 6 cell battery does last 3 to 3 1/2 hours. The optional 9 cell battery has about a 5 hour life span.

Does anyone know if the Memory can be upgraded? From 8GB RAM to more like 16GB? Or what the max is? You can do Crucial Scan (http://www.crucial.com/store/drammemory.aspx) and it'll tell you how much the computer can hold, the max and what type of chip it takes. Greatly appreciated!
