My husband and I have always considered our cell phones to be for emergencies and would never use them as our primary phone system. We are living in Arizona for the winter now that my husband has retired and we had a phone system and modem installed by the local phone company. At our home in MN we have eight cordless phones that I bought from Staples and they have worked for years without any problems. So when I need some phones for our mobile home (that has only one incoming phone line) I went to Staples to find some cordless phones. The AT&T 3 handset phone was on sale and since our mobile home is only 60 feet by 12 feet we certainly didn't need even 3 phones, but the price was right and although our phones in MN are made by another company I decided to give the AT&T system a try. I am so glad I did because it has worked wonderfully. Our phone company supplies an answering service and the AT&T system allowed us to turn off the answering system just by pushing a button. We have one phone that is in our kitchen that is plugged into the phone line, but if I get a call and answer it on that phone I always go get one of the AT&T phones because they have superior sound quality. My husband still consults for his former company and he loves the AT&T phone because his calls back to MN are clear and static free. This is a great buy and I am so glad it was available when I was looking at phones at Staples.

Not a terrible phone, but I'm somewhat disappointed so far. If the bases to each of the handsets could be a little heavier/sturdier, it would help, since their lack of weight causes them to move around every time I pick up or try to hang up the phones. Also, just as you can save numbers to a directory with this phone, I was hoping to also be able to save numbers to be blocked, like I could on my [old] Panasonic phone set. I haven't found it in the manual yet, but I need to learn how to add a "space" with the buttons when entering a 2-part name in the directory. It's not the # sign, apparently. The last negative thing I'm going to say is that the choice of ring tones is horrendous. They are all irritating and screechy!

Good for technically challenged seniors

Comments about AT&T CL82313 3 Handset Cordless Telephone with Answering System/Caller ID/Call Waiting:

Good User Manual makes a difference: Directions are concise, easy to follow and written in grammatically correct English. Printed with 'senior friendly' font size -use of magnifier unnecessary.
Illustrations clearly and adequately labeled. End result, able to make use of systems features. (not my experience with past systems)
I like Caller ID announce, a feature that let's you know who's calling, sometimes without out having to look at the display. Similar to Garmin's pronunciation of driving directions, reading the caller ID may be required.
I much appreciate this:No need to hand hold or clutch the phone between your head and shoulder. Put the handset speaker down for a hands free conversation.
Safety feature: No need to rush, you can set the answering system to answer in coming calls after 2,3,4,5 or 6 rings.
Lest you forget: Set the telephone base to beep every 10 seconds when there is at least one new message if you tend to forget to check.
A nice family feature: A walkie-talkie to call the kids for dinner: The PTT - Push To Talk feature allows you to directly broadcast messages to the speakerphone of any handset.

Comments about AT&T CL82313 3 Handset Cordless Telephone with Answering System/Caller ID/Call Waiting:

I do not use the answering part of this phone since I have it with the cable was not easy setting up the directory but I like that it goes to all phones so I only have to do it once, sound is good I wish it would flash when there is voice mail as my old one did but not a deal breaker, some of the buttons can be located at a more convenience location but after a while I will get use to where they are

AT&T CL82313 3-Handset Cordless Phone

By Renee

Comments about AT&T CL82313 3 Handset Cordless Telephone with Answering System/Caller ID/Call Waiting:

I purchased this phone to replace a Panasonic cordless phone that has the Caller ID announce feature. I was sadly disappointed that the volume of the announcement does not match that of the Panasonic which makes this phone useless to us since it is for my mother whose hearing is less than perfect. I called AT&T for assistance and their 'trial and error' process pushed us past the 14-day technology return policy. They resolved that since the announcement could be heard, the limitation of the volume was not a defect; therefore, all they could say was 'too bad' since we're stuck with the phone. I will never purchase another AT&T cordless phone because this has taught me that although the features appear to be the same as the Panasonic in comparison, they're obviously not!
