The phone box advertises caller ID, but the phone does not show the ID of new callers. You have to answer the phone first, then it records the callers ID, and displays it next time they call. That is a bit deceptive. We do not wish to answer the phone to find out it is someone we do not want to talk to in the first place.

Most phones are ready to use when you pick tham up. This one needs to have the green button hit to even answer a call, let alone make one. Should be automatic. Also, it's not easy to delete numbers from the call log. There should be an easier way to transfer numbers from the call log to the directory. There's none now. Volume control should be a button on the side of the phone, not a screen option. The message option is the best part of the phone. There should be a battery store for the time/date so a power fluctuation doesn't reset the date stamp. We get a lot of those in FL so I'm always having to get the book out and reset the phone.

Overall a good phone. Would have liked more built-in ring choices. There is a slight pause when entering a number while it registers, which slows down dialing. Other than that, buy it if it fits your needs.

I intended to purchase another portable phone which was less expensive but when I told my friend at Staples that I wasn't satisfied with that brand he suggested this AT&T model. It cost $10 more but it is definitely worth it because it really is more reliable. The previous phone would just drop calls for no reason with no warning; this phone is fine so far.

Q:
Is there a way to increase the volume on the microphone? When I use the Speakerphone feature, those I am speaking with tell me my voice is garbled. When I don't use speaker, it seems to be fine. Hoping there is a hidden setting that can assist with this issue as I tend to use the speaker function a lot for work related calls. Thx

  The speakerphone volume control on the AT&T EL51110 DECT 6.0 Cordless Telephone can be changed by while on a call, press DIR/VOLUME to increase or press or CID/VOLUME to decrease the listening/talking volume. When the volume reaches the minimum or maximum setting, you will hear 2 beeps. Additional note the handset earpiece volume setting (1-5) and speakerphone volume setting (1-6) are independent of each other.

  In response to your query, the phone model EL51110 and EL52500 are Cordless Handset Telephone System and not expandable. Unfortunately, there are no accessory handsets designed that would be compatible or can be used to add or to replace a lost or damaged handset. Therefore, they are compatible with each other but it is not possible to those two telephone systems to work as one. You may use them as an extension by plugging their main bases on a two different phone jacks. However, we can recommend the phone model CL83201 + FOUR CL80111 which has six handsets expandable cordless telephone system with an Answering system and Dial in Base Speakerphone.
