It was time to replace my 13 or 15 year old AT&T 2-line speakerphone. I saw a lot of reviews speaking well of the AT&T 993, but that's not available in stores. My main need was for a good speakerphone, since I work from home 2 days a week, and spend a lot of that time on conference calls while working on my laptop. There were very mixed comments on the speakerphone quality of this model. I also wasn't sure if AT&T's "Clearspeak" speakerphone was full duplex. My local Staples is walking distance from my house, so this was a low risk purchase if I wanted to return it if I didn't like the phone. I'm happy to report that the speakerphone is great. I've been on it through much of the day, and have been consistently told by those on the calls that the I sound very clear. Performance on my end as the listener is also very good. It it clear and quite loud. I had to turn the volume down. I'm still not sure that "Clearspeak" is full duplex, but I didn't seem to have issues when parties on both ends of the calls were talking at the same time. Very happy with the phone, especially at this price.

The phone is easy to setup. I had 14 of the 18 speed dials set up within minutes (even before opening the manual). The handset is sounds good as well, and is a good size to hold between shoulder and ear (keeping your hands free). Some handsets are too slim or small for that. I haven't tried 3-way calling with both lines, but it's very straightforward (I did read the manual for that). I also haven't tried a headset yet, and that's because I can't find mine. I like that the stand (or legs) works in two positions. I set it up in the most vertical position. It's easier to read the screen that way, and has a smaller footprint on my desk that way. I do agree with other reviews that the buttons can be stiff, but it seems less so after I used the more vertical stand position.

I don't hesitate in recommending this phone. If the phone you get is not as good as I describe, I suggest exchanging it for the same model. I think there are enough positive reviews of the phone to suggest the "bad" phones may have developed issues due to rough shipping and handling.

I bought this speakerphone to replace a very similar AT&T speakerphone that had served me well for years, when its speaker started having problems. I do much of my work from home and am on conference calls quite a bit, so for me a good speakerphone is imperative.

I had to return this phone because although I could hear well, my colleagues reported that my voice broke up quite a bit on their end. Not a good impression to make on clients.

I had this phone in the same exact location in my home office as the previous phone. It's possible PC or router interference was an issue, but I have little flexibility in where else to place the phone, so this had to work, or go back.

Sorry to say it went back. I liked pretty much everything else about it - easy setup, nice big buttons for easy visibility.

Absolutely love them... This is my forth AT&T phone in 20 plus years. I am on conference calls all day, everyday. Always clear sound and voice quality. Truly one of the best phones at a great price. Super easy to setup and use. Simple to follow instruction manual. Quick access volume controls.

Comments about AT&T ML17928 2 Line Speakerphone:

I bought the phone based on price, but I really like it. I like the big buttons, the clarity of the speaker phone is good, it was easy to set up. This phone replaced a 2 line RCA which never worked correctly. For 7 years I looked at a message to replace the battery....but no battery ever made the message go away.

It also slants a little higher than the old RCA, which makes reading the display easier as well.

We're not a super high user of phones at our company, (e.g. we don't make sales calls all day). I would recommend it. I like it better than the old RCA
