    The first surprise was that almost all the features of the base (AT&T TL86109) can be accessed from the handset. Second, surprise was how well the handset and base work with a bluetooth cell phone paired up. Although bluetooth is usually limited to 30 feet, I can connect with my cell phone where ever I leave it in the house. I loaded my 400 cell phone contacts into the AT&T directory. Though searching in the directory does not exist, it scrolls fast through the list.The handset works well with my hearing aids and the only static in a months use came when I used the handset to call a cell phone through my cell phone. That connection is handset to base unit to cell phone and out the cell phone system to another cell phone. Quite a lot of through the air and dubious connections with just a little static.I had purchased the base unit (AT&T TL86109) with one handset from another vendor and shopped for a good price for a second handset.     I was replacing my Panasonic 2 line phone that I had for years. I didn't care for the current Panasonic handset so I went with the AT&T. BIG MISTAKE. I should have stayed with Panasonic.
    The AT&T appears to have most of the same features but it takes too many steps to get to the same end result.
    The lettering on the screen is difficult to read/see. I'm use to letters that look black, not thin and light.
    Part of the problem could be learning how a new phone operates, in time maybe I might get use to some of the quirks. The way I feel about this phone right now I don't think it will be around long enough for me to get use to it.

            Very good phone. I tried a Panasonic that was horrible. Panasonic was so bad I couldn't return it fast enough. Got the AT&T and it has proven itself to be very good. I like the sound quality.

              i want to return this phone becase of the lighting.the end call is hard to find and even harder to see if the room is dim. the screen is very hard to read because of no contrast. the blue light on the wirelss stay on and light up the whold room. that is how the phone should be so you can see how and what you are trying to do with the phone.i purchased this phone because i have one att wireless. i love it1 i can increase back lighting, change wall paper,easy to save and edit #s in memory. this 2 line will not allow me to and a 1 becasue thd CID doesnt incule it.
              i hate this phone because it is truely inferior to the one line att phone i have.

                  Actually the handset has two lines and blue tooth. The information does lead you to believe it is a single line but not the case. Both lines as well as the blue tooth if paired with a cellphone can be answered.
