At first, my wife wanted a Tablet PC, which is larger and more powerful than the Kindle Fire, and she originally fell in love with the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, because it had a real keyboard whenever she wanted to use one. However, realizing that it was out of her price range, and after spending many hours researching alternative options, we chose this Acer Aspire One 722 (AO722-0825) Netbook because it came fully loaded and was the cheapest deal while on sale at Staples.
Because it has the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, we can do anything on it that our desktop PC can do, which makes this mini laptop so awesome. We did install a free antivirus program (Avast) on it, and all of my wife's favorite programs and games, and she thoroughly loves it. With a pink skin (DecalGirl Pink Burst) and a pink wireless mouse (Logitech M305) on order, she's living in heaven while I'm finally able to get back on our desktop PC.
Please keep in mind that if you need to use a CD or a DVD, you will need to use an external USB CD/DVD drive. In addition, if you opt out of getting an external CD/DVD drive, just as we did, then you will need a 16GB USB Flash Drive in order to create the 9GB "Factory Default Backup" (basically a System Recovery Disk). If you do use an external CD/DVD drive, I'm not sure how it would burn the 9GB image onto a blank DVD, which can't hold 9GB on one disk.
I hope this review is helpful to you.

unexpected difficulty
The touch pad is very difficult to use. Not able to click it without having a problem, have to try several times before able to open application or program.

Comments about Acer Aspire AO722-0825 11.6" Laptop:
So far I am quite well pleased with my decision to go with the Acer Aspire laptop and I got good use of discount and coupon amounts to help with this purchase which was a part of my 2011 xmas and for Mothers Day. Thanks for this offering to help my budget to have this to enjoy.
Comments about Acer Aspire AO722-0825 11.6" Laptop:
I bought this unit primarily to run Excel, Word, and light Internet usage. The first problem I had was when I installed Office 97 (the version my work uses). The display distorted all of the cells making them practically unusable. Acer support could only suggest I reinstall the OS (and all the bloatware), which I did, and of course did not solve the problem. The next day the machine wouldn't boot up because of what I believe was corrupted bios ( boot device errors, and bios password lockout). Contacting support again their only solution was for me to send it in for a repair for a cost of $99. Even though I only had the unit 3 weeks (20 days) , this was still not covered.
Needless to say, from my standpoint, Acer's warrantees are useless. I'll never buy another Acer product again. I also tried to return it to Staples, but their return policy is limited to just 14 days (6 days too short for my case). I'll probably not buy there anymore as well

Q:
Since this netbook does not have a DVD drive, how is recovery accomplished? Also down the road when I need to replace the hard drive, how can i reinstall the original Windows 7 onto the new hard drive?
A flash drive that holds over 9 GB of memory is needed so that you can download the "Factory Default Backup" so if recovery is needed, you will have easy access to use it.

A:
The Acer Aspire AO722-0825 11.6" Laptop recovery would be done by flash drive. Normally would you make back up disks from your hard drive or they would be provided with your new machine. With a laptop or netbook with no disk drive you will be provided with a flash or instructions on how to make a flash drive. You may also use an external disk drive. For more information, please call Acer at 800-571-2237.
This model supports the older version SD cards but in the specs there is no mention of it supporting the newer SDHC cards.
