Worst package in a product I've EVER had

First off, let me say that after reading the reviews I had anticapated for the most part a pretty great investment for the price. "Easy to assemble: WRONG!!!! I opened the box and there was an instruction manual NO WHERE to be found. I had to call the Staples Customer Service line (at 9p) to ask what the heck to do, they said to go on the manufactureres website and print one. How lovely and convenient.
While assembling the fng thing I realize, a few of the pieces are MISLABELED, and the keyboard shelf is flawed, some of the press board had been torn open. Joy.
Then nearly two hours of trying to construct this thing (pretty handy myself), the backing of the drawer unit is missing, AND the "Cabinet Member" (Page 10 of the manual I had to print out) is installed (by the manufacturer) so I cant even put one of the drawers in.
Needless to say, IM fumed! I spent way too much fng time on this nightmare, and if I didnt have to take the time to shove the whole fng thing back in the box I wouldve had the moronic piece of nothing picked up. ALTRA, get it right. You're selling to Staples for God's sakes, I would never recommend this to anyone, you might be running to Ace Hardware to finish the fng thing.

The product is difficult to assemble if this is your first time. I had prior experience putting together furniture and this took me an hour and half. I suggest purchasing a quality wood glue and glue each piece of this desk. This product comes with glue but it is very cheap. The desk is very heavy I suggest assembling it in the spot you would like this to be because of the weight of the desk.

The keyboard drawer rails failed after about three weeks. I scraped the drawer back and forth, the sound makes your teeth hurt, for about 8 months. A couple weeks ago the rails failed completely and fell apart. I got the bright idea that I could replace them.... not so fast, they're abnormally narrow so a regular drawer rail won't work. This desk has been nothing but aggravation since the day I bought it.

The specifications list a finished modesty panel as part of the completed desk. However, the photos I am shown do not show a finished modesty panel. Does it have one or not? And, if so, is it an additional cost?

Q:
How come I can't get the bottom drawer to slide in all the way? The directions regarding inserting the drawers are pretty weak, and I got the desk fully assembled, but I can't get the bottom drawer in, and the top drawer isn't sliding in properly either.

Can anyone offer any advice on getting the drawers in properly?

  No Ruthie, it's not assembled, but good luck finding one out there that is. It is a beautiful desk though and worth the effort. As long as you follow the directions in order, it's not too awful bad. Have someone help you - that's the best way! See my review I just posted on Staples website.
