I will never buy an Altra product ever. I have assembled many pieces of office furniture and this is one of the most difficult ones I've tried. Some of the hardware especially the small wood screws are cheap and strip easily. The holes in the drawers were improperly drilled making assembly incredibly difficult. Flimsy particle board. The instructions are terrible. There is hardly any wording whatsoever. I felt like for the price of this desk that I would receive a better product. I bought this to replace a cheap desk I purchased at another retailer for a fraction of the price and that was constructed much better than this thing! Ugh, I regret having even made this purchase. What a waste of time and money! We gave up after trying to put this thing together for 5 hours. Will be calling customer service to see about returning this item.

The desk looks nice and functions well. The box comes with about 100 different pieces which take a long time to put together.

I looked the desk over before I purchased. Sure thing you get what you pay for. But when you buy 2 desk for over 550.00. You would think you would get some support. From either Staples or the manufacturer. A big fat NO on both counts. Then if that don't take the cake . They put the desk on sale for 139.00. How about some help after the sale. All I needed was the small cam locks. Got two drawers that don't function and the top scratches easy

I am a student doing my inernship as a contractor. I wanted a formal L desk badly for my exam preparation and my client meetings. When I looked at staples, this desk looked decent and I ordered it with out hesitation because it is listed on (recommended) staples website.
The order appeared at my door step after 2 business days.
I started assembling the desk and realized that I made a mistake by ordering this piece. The pieces are defective like the screw holes are not deep enough, the groves does not match with the other piece and few parts are missing.
When I tried to contact the manufacturer, it took around 1 hour to get a representative on line. And he took all the details and said I will recieve the parts in first class mail. It has been 4 weeks and I didnt reveive my package yet. When I contacted Staples, they said there is nothing they can help on it. I am deeply un satisfied with this order. I would not recommend this product and manufacturer to anyone.

Yes this is a cheap desk made from particle board, remember - you get what you pay for. I use this desk and hutch in my home office and I was looking for this particular style (L-shape with hutch) and couldn't spend a lot of money since I was buying it out of my own pocket. This meets my needs just fine. I use it on a daily basis and have had it for about 6 months now with no major issues. I wish the "L" portion was a little larger such as I would have if I worked in an office setting. My biggest recommendation is to pay for Staples to put it together for you. This thing is a pain to put together and has a zillion pieces - I thought my husband was going to kill me.
