LOVE this! The only complaint I have is the little plastic pieces used to hold the metal bar (aka stopper) on the ends of the files- too keep them snug. If you slightly bump the bar, the whole thing comes out, and in my case the plastic holder fell behind the drawer into never never land on the bottom of the cabinet, where I can't access it anymore. That kind of stinks, but otherwise- LOVE this! So much better than the metal cabinets that don't allow you to see all the files hidden in the back.

I'm leaving a review to warn others about my experience. I purchased two of these filing cabinets through Staples recently when my company moved to a new office. One of the filing cabinets was perfect, I got it all assembled in the expected amount of time, and it works like a charm; I'm very pleased with it. The other cabinet was missing a piece from the box when I opened it; unfortunately, the base, so it's impossible to assemble it without that piece. I was a bit bummed, but the instructions say right on the front page how to go about ordering a replacement part if anything is missing. That very same day, we ordered the replacement part online, and stacked the other pieces in the corner to wait for the replacement to come in. This was on February 23rd. When the part had not arrived a week later, I tried to call the Altra support phone number with no success. First I was a bit surprised to hear the automated message call themselves Ameriwood instead of Altra, but I didn't think much of it. After being on hold for over 10 minutes, I gave up and just thought, "Surely they'll come soon." Tried again several days later, a few times throughout the day, and never got through within 15 minutes; just always the classic, "Your call is important to us, please continue to hold for the next rep..." Finally, yesterday, after waiting nearly a month for this part, I called again and after 12 minutes someone DID answer the call. The customer service rep said that the part had been out of stock when the replacement order was placed, so it closed unfulfilled. She said the part is still out of stock at their regular warehouse, but that she will have an order made from a different house and it should arrive this week. So, take heed: if any piece of furniture you get from Altra is missing a part, I'd recommend going to Staples for an exchange if possible instead of waiting on Altra to help you. I can't believe they weren't even going to let me know the part was backordered; I wonder how long I would have waited if I hadn't finally decided to sit through as many minutes of auto-attendant as it took.

      Salesperson did not tell me when purchased that one company would deliver, then another to assemble. Delivery people dropped boxes in garage. Assembly people told me they don't move the boxes or remove them after assembly. This was a very complicated, user UNFRIENDLY purchase and I won't recommend buying furniture from Staples ever again. Assembly cost almost $200 more and took two men 5 hours. It was not easy for me to deal with you all. Customer service is really not any service at all!

        I'm very happy with the Chadwick Lateral file cabinet that I ordered. It works well with the files that I need to keep for my business and it also matches the desk and single file cabinet that I had previously bought. I also like the idea that when I need more cabinets, I am able to order them to match my existing pieces and have a choice as to whether it's a single file or lateral file cabinet.

              We were very disappointed with this product. The holes were not lined up so we had to drill new holes for the pieces to fit. The interior of the handles where the screws went in were stripped. We had to order new handles. It was more of a project than it should have been. It took much longer to construct than it should have. We had to bring out a measure and level to figure out why it wouldn't fit together. We have assembled many pieces of furniture and this was by far the most frustrating.

              Great looking piece, good size drawers compared to others I looked at. A bit of a challenge to assemble, I am handy with tools etc but even I was stumped at times. This was the 2nd one so a bit easier.
