    Can the longer shelf be placed on the other side like are the sides reversible so that it can be placed on the other side of the wall? FOr example the picture shows that the desk could be placed on the next to the wall with the left side touching the wall can that be switched so that the right side is agains the wall but with the same construction of the desk

      Yes you can assemble in the reverse direction. Just make sure you note which side you want in your mind when assembling.
