I bought this desk for my son's bedroom, mostly for the large open work surface. It assembled easily in just under 2 hours with minimal assistance from a second person (lifting sections into place), but I am handy with tools and have built more than a few pieces of furniture. The drawers slide easily, but are light weight so don't plan on storing heavy items in them. Overall we are very satisfied with this desk.
