We have been using plastic chairmats for years, both for carpeting and hardwood. Prices for both plastic and bamboo are comparable. The ability to roll the bamboo mats up and also use them either on carpeting or hardwoods is a huge plus. I will be donating several plastic mats as if they are not store flat edges roll up and never completely flatten and are a major tripping hazard.
