We have tried to find chair mats that don't crack and break through normal retail channels. They all crack after about a year, regardless of the price paid and the lifetime guarantees. We purchase the proper chair casters, etc. and still have this problem. We've had an Anji mat in place for approximately 2 months and are pleased. The materials appear to be of good quality and they look nice. Check back with us in another 10 months to see if our opinion has changed. . . I hope not.

The catalog states it should be used on hard floors or low pile carpets. It should also say slim padding also. I have low pile carpeting in my office but a medium thickness pad. When you roll across it while sitting in a chair, it snaps as you roll across from one slat to another. This appears to be caused because of the give in the carpet and padding. I'm hoping is will stand up to this enviornment.

used in home office and wore out a plactic one each year -- this is great and a much better surface on carpet
