I went to 3 different Staples stores to get these, as they were on sale for dirt cheap!! I bought 6 of these 120mm's to put in a gaming rig that I just finished modding, and they sure are quiet & all set on high speed(1000rpm). All are inside the case, 1 on the bottom, 2 on the (L)side, 2 on top & 1 on the back, and they are hooked-up to an Antec VF450 PSU - not the motherboard. Not much more I can say about Antec - they make great stuff, 2 year warranty, their customer service is out-standing & Antec makes great computer accesseries. Thanks Antec!!!!

I must confess to being pleasantly surprised by how quiet this fan actually turned out to be. The high speed setting is about as loud as I'd expected the slower setting to be, and the slower setting I couldn't hear at all over the faint hum of my CPU fan. For someone who needs to air cool a PC without making much noise, I would recommend this product.

I do, however, have one small complaint. I was installing the fan in a newly built PC, and upon reflection decided that airflow would be better if I moved it from one of the upper fan mounts to one of the lower ones. That was when I realized that the neoprene mounting pieces that make the fan so disinclined to transmit vibration to the case aren't reusable. The four that are provided with the fan are fine for mounting the fan once. Beyond that, you're out of luck. I would advise Antec to provide a second set, but since they didn't my particular TrueQuiet will remain in the less than ideal upper mount.

Comments about Antec TrueQuiet 120 Cooling Fan:

My new computer was shipped from Texas and having problems. First the mother board was damaged in transit and had to be replaced so I took it in to the excellent tech guys at Staples. When I got it home it started making crazy noises which I figured out were the two front fans, so I replaced both the fans all on my own. It was so easy, I kind of surprised myself. The fans have three speeds which was nice. It's been weeks, I keep thinking the noise might come back but everything is purring like a kitten.
