Magic Mouse is unlike any other mouse you’ve ever used. The Multi-Touch™ surface lets you use gestures to swipe through photos and scroll down web pages. And the entire mouse is the button, so you can click anywhere.
Overall, this is a very adequate mouse, performing all the functions you would expect from a generic mouse. As an Apple product, however, it is a bit disappointing. No zoom feature, and it is a bit wide, but the major (and I do mean major) drawback is the way it DEVOURS batteries. I turn it off every night and when I plan to be away from my computer for any length of time, and still the batteries only last two-three weeks at most. I know, because I put a "sticky" note on my computer screen with the date I change the batteries. To summarize: if you don't mind spending a fortune on batteries, it is a decent mouse. Other than the fact that it's white and says "Apple," I see no other reason to buy it.
I find that Energizer batteries last about 3-4 months. I leave it on all the time. Sometimes it is VERY sensitive and moves very quickly from the area you are working in or going to. The flip side is that you get to where you need to be with only a flick of the finger over the top of the mouse. My husband was always a fan of the old "right-left" style of mouse. I switched out my apple mouse for the old one. He hated the old one and realized he was a real Apple convert.
Will continue to buy Apple products at Staples! The fact that Staples Rewards is convient to use for any and all products I dont mind saving them up and using them for anything.

I can not give a definitive answer on this but everything I've read says you must have 10.5.8

A:
The system requirements for this mouse is a Mac computer with Bluetooth wireless technology, OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 or OS X v10.6.1 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0. Given this OS requirements, it will not work in your Mac as your OS is only 10.4.11.

Q:
Does this mouse have to be used with a Mac computer or can I use it with my HP?

Apple has released a bluetooth update for Windows that allows the Magic Mouse to work with Windows XP and Vista using Boot Camp. The mouse also works with Windows 7.
