              I have been using this desk pad for many years and it still lies flat. I note that the picture supplied by the reviewer that said that his buckled shows that he is talking about a different product - namely the Artistic Logo Pad. Many of the reviewers there talk about the top curling. This Artistic product may be better. I am planning to get another one because over the years, I have gotten things on it like glue, fingernail polish and other sticky stuff and it is not cleaning off as well as it used to. But, I've certainly gotten my money's worth as I have had in for so many years, I don't remember when I purchased it.

                i bought this product about a year ago and loved it at first - the product stays in place and does a great job protecting my desk. i didn't actually use the hide-away function, but it was nice that it was there. now, however, the clear vinyl top has warped extensively, and no longer sits flush with the bottom layer. in fact, its natural position is now over 1 inch above the desk. nothing appears to be able to remedy this situation, so i've got to pitch this one and try to find a higher quality product.

                        Yes, it will keep the keyboard from slipping as much. The pad is made out of vinyl and it is slightly gripped.

                        The base is black, the overlay is anti-glare opaque. This will make the black a duller color.
