Was so happy got two

The thickness of the vinyl is perfect. Removes from the surface being covered easilly without marks. Bought one for the desk and one for my lateral file to protect the surfaces. I wish they had other sizes- top of my chest of drawers and 2 drawer file for example. Great product for a great price and it allows the beauty of the wood to shine thru too.

I took it back

I thought this item would be handy to protect my desktop from any marring from my laptop and I could stow notes and pictures underneath for easy of viewing. I found out really quickly that my wireless mouse was not going to play well with this desk pad. I took it off in less than a day and returned it to the store. Not sure how a wired mouse might work but my optical mouse would not move smoothly on the surface.

Wish I saw the note about not being recommended for laminate, acrylic or poly coated surfaces which would probably be almost any desk surface like the new desk I bought this for which is wood with a varnish so now I'm afraid to use it as it warns that it may mar the surface. What type of desk is this for? Glass or metal? Not sure about this one.

Have bought this product before and will buy it again; however, I did not like the disclaimer this time stating to avoid use on wood with lacquer; acrylic or urethane finishes as material may mar surface. True enough. It did just that. This seems to happen with the smaller sizes; however, with the larger one, 24x38 you don't have this disclaimer and it never damaged my larger desk. Artistic should think about doing the same thing for the smaller sizes. I'm recommending this product with a warning.

We currently have three. The first one was purchased years ago and is still perfect. We use them under plants to protect a wooden surface from spills. We didn't know until we bought the second one that some types of finish may be damaged by these products. We have never had a problem with them discoloring our 35 year old table, but that is a potential negative. Otherwise, they are great products.
