I put this refrigerator under my desk at work--fits cleanly under the desk and has a small footprint--I can't even tell it's there. It was super easy to transport--lightweight and small but enough room inside for condiments, lunch, snack items and beverages. It gets plenty cool and makes no noise. I deliberately chose a unit with no freezer and I think that's a good decision--no defrosting or inefficiency. So far, I'm very happy with this unit.

I don't ordinarily write reviews but this product deserves one. It arrived in an undamaged sealed box. Upon opening, the we discovered the metal exterior to be dented in several areas. As this was stickly cosmetic, we decided to keep the item anyway. As we tried to level the unit, we discovered the leveling legs in front were held in place with tissue paper and were useless. Further, several other bolts fell out of the bottom and could not be reattached because there was nothing to screw it into. This refrigerator is a piece of pooly constructed garbage and as such overpriced.

Comments about Avanti® 1.7 CU. FT. Superconductor Cooling Refrigerator, White:
Refrigerator was packaged poorly: flimsy foam and thin cardboard box. The unit operated well for nearly three months, then started to rattle very loudly. The frig stopped working suddenly one night- lost all of the perishables in it. I will not pay the fee required by the manufacturer for a replacement to be sent. I plan to purchase locally from more well-known manufacturer.
Comments about Avanti® 1.7 CU. FT. Superconductor Cooling Refrigerator, White:
First Avanti product that doesn't make me happy. The technology requires that it be placed in an area which is around 70F to cool stuff and work efficiently. Due to space and safety requirements, all our mini fridges are kept in spacious electronics cabinets which are 85F to 90F. This fridge can only drop the temperature by only 35F. So, I put an old computer cooling fan next to an access port drawing the hot air out. This made a tremendous difference and the unit cools satisfactorily; but lowers the efficiency. The compressor units we have been using can drop temperature by 60F and last about ten years in this hostile environment.

If you are looking for a small fridge without a freezer, this product is for you. My family wanted a small cooler in our upstairs den and this is perfect. It's quiet, holds quite a bit, and it keeps beverages very cold.
