Horrible Taste!

Finding a replacement small-sized water dispenser for our office was quite difficult. We ordered the Avanti because the size was perfect. However, the water had a dreadful plastic taste. Since the size was perfect for us, we decided to try to clean it out with baking soda. It took about ten cleanings and leaving it soaking in baking soda for 2 days to finally get rid of the taste. If you don't mind going through all the trouble of cleaning out the taste, it will serve your needs. If we hadn't finally cleaned it out, we would have returned it.

Finding a replacement small-sized water dispenser for our office was quite difficult. We ordered the Avanti because the size was perfect. However, the water had a dreadful plastic taste. Since the size was perfect for us, we decided to try to clean it out with baking soda. It took about ten cleanings and leaving it soaking in baking soda for 2 days to finally get rid of the taste. If you don't mind going through all the trouble of cleaning out the taste, it will serve your needs. If we hadn't finally cleaned it out, we would have returned it.

          Couldn't find a table top and my 90 yr old Mother was lost when hers went out. Not only is the unit great, but Staples provided excellent service to get it to me. Only negative - area under water spout could be a little taller.

              This information is taken directly from Avanti's site. The cold water cycle is not affected by either program and continuously runs to maintain a cold water temperature between 7ºC/44ºF and 10ºC/50ºF.

              Here is the information from the manual: During operation the (red) “HOT” cycle indicator will
              be on until the temperature of the water in the reservoir reaches 90ºC/194ºF (approximately 9
              minutes). The (red) “HOT” cycle indicator will turn off and will remain off until the
              temperature of the water in the reservoir drops to 81ºC/178ºF at which time the (red) “HOT”
              cycle indicator will turn on and the cycle will start again.
