Don't use anything else

I tried the Staples brand and was very unsatisfied. It was too gooey and unpredictable. These work and are for the most part predictable. Occasionally one will start out hard (it is too dry--but after a few passes (rubs) it smooths out. One in ten will be a bit soft and you will end us using more glue than you want and end up with less surface area glued.

I go through 3-5 boxes of these a week (24-30 giant glue sticks). They are easier to work with than the smaller sticks and the adhesion is permanent if you are gluing paper to paper. Beware though, if the sheets you glued get damp the glue all-but dissolves. Also, you have about a 5 second working time with this. You can reposition quickly but after a few seconds it is too late and whatever you glued is in place and that is that.
