Comments about Balt® Metal Lectern:

This is a very attractive, modern looking, lecturn. It is very heavy (that is a good thing, it doesn't wobble around or fall over easy). Only dislike is that it is made of smooth metal and is very noisy if you tap it, slap it, place a hard-cover book onto it, or pretty much anything touching it makes a loud ringing noise. I plan to fix this with some well placed accoustic foam (from the local music store) to absorb the vibrations from the metal. I am over 6ft tall and the lecturn is a perfect height for me, yet my 10yr old can also stand behind it and see over the top.

        It is about 40 pounds or so setup. (Setup is easy, took about 10 or 12 minutes and it includes the alan wrench - for the 8 screws needed to assemble - with the lectern) I do like it, hopefully you will not need in a place where a little noise will be a big problem. If so, a little acoustic foam glued to the underside (out of sight areas) of the tope and the base should absorb enough of the vibration.
