Very convenient--and solves problems

And it solved a problem for me. After limping along with an HP AIO to handle scanning in our tax office, I bought a Fujitsu sheet-fed document scanner just so I could keep up. Problem: couldn't get the Fujitsu to install unless I disconnected the HP. But then I couldn't have both scanners connected at the same time. This is a known issue with XP and multiple scanners, I'm told.

But connecting both scanners through this Belkin hub eliminated all problems. Don't know why. But I've bought two of these, one for home, one for the office, and I might buy another for travel. Great little item.

I bought this computer to work with my MacBook Air, which only has one USB port. I thought that by having its own power, it could drive more devices that need power. The devices that I need to connect to my MacBook Air at the same time through this hub are iTouch and an external hard drive, where I store all files to be sync'ed. It turns out that this hub only provides enough power to drive one such device, not two or more. Thus, this hub is useless for me. I wish that I can return it because I never really used it. I have another hub that is very compact but without a power supply that can connect multiple USB drives and other devices that require less power.

          This product was sold on it's ability to run more than 2 USB devices at a time because it is a "powered". It doesn't. As soon as a third device is added, it is not recognized by the computer. If I hadn't discarded the sales slip it would have been returned long ago.

            I use this on my home desktop. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse that each has a usb receiver. This combined with my I-Phone usb cord made for a mess of extention cords. The cord for my I-Phone would slip back behind my desk when I unplugged it unless I wedged it under the monitor stand. This little device, while a little more expensive than the other usb hubs, solved all my problems. I plug both my wireless receivers and I-phone into this hub and still have a port left over for my jump drive. The cord holder works perfect to keep my I-phone cord handy when it is unplugged.
