I use this product in conjunction with the Belkin 4-port hub, which stacks neatly to give 7 rear connections + 4 top ports. The rear ports serve my printers, scanner, and external HDs & DVD writers. The top ports are great for temp connections like flash drives, memory card readers, GPS and iPod connections. Everything fits neatly and securely in a small desktop space. I like this combination better than several others I've tried over the years.

Go with something else.

Bought it because I was underwhelmed with the design of the staples brand 7 port usb hub equivalent. Terrible decision, after roughly 2 months of use the thing decides to just stop working. Tried it on 3 separate computers and couldn't get a connection to any of them. The product felt extremely cheesy and cheap for the steep price tag also. Avoid this one and go with the staples brand hub if you need a 7 port-er. It may be uglier but at least its reliable.

This was fine while it lasted, but all the ports failed in less than two years. Considering the price, I think that's pretty poor performance.

I purchased this hub to use as a charging station for my iPhone and ipod, as well as to use as a quick connect for cameras and jump drives. I am VERY disappointed that it does not support charging my phone or ipod. For as much as I spent on this one would think there would be no problem! Of course I threw out the packaging so am now stuck with a worthless hub!

The top two ports only work occasionally. This seems to be a common problem with USB hubs. If you need USB ports that never fail, do not waste your money on this device.

  This does not have a disk with drivers. The can support 4 printers, but I would recommend calling Belkin at (800)223-5546 to insure it works with all your set up components.

Q:
How long is the cord that goes from the hub to the connector that goes into the computer? I'd like a hub that can connect multiple devices but sit far away from my computer so that I only have one wire going into the computer and all the others are sitting several feet away.

Would this product work, and if not, do you have any suggestions?

  This unit has an external power supply that plugs into a 120VAC outlet. It is an enormous advantage when running a high power requirement such as a USB hard drive. It will wokrk standalone without the power supply, but then a high power requirement device will not work - what is the point of buying a 7 port hub without an external power supply? You need it plugged in to make full use of it with 7 devices
