I use the Flip to connect one PC with Vista 64 and one PC with Windows 7 Ultimate to One Mouse, Keyboard, & HD widescreen monitor.
Easy set up, but not so easy if using instructions.
Best to use common sense.
Leave both PC's off. Attach Flip to both PC's.
Boot 1st PC, (the PC that short cord of Flip is
attached to), allow ample time for PC to "see"
Flip. Test keyboard and mouse. If all is OK;
press Flip remote button and yellow light indicator will turn green.
Now boot 2nd PC and follow same directions as for 1st PC.
Now switch between PC's at the touch of a button.
P.S. Hotkey switching software is available for free on line at the Belkin site).

Connectivity issues

I purchased this switch to share keyboard/monitor between a G4 and G5 having limited desk space. When the switch works it works fine; however it often fails to connect the keyboard and mouse to the correct system at startup. The most common failure is a "frozen" keyboard and mouse. I have to reconnect the keyboard cable or sometimes power the switch off and on to capture a connection.

Works better than other KVM's I've had.

I'm pleased with this KVM. I was a bit nervous about it given the reviews on this site but it does just what I want it to. No weird mouse or keyboard behavior at all which I've experienced with other KVMs. There is a short delay when switching between computers but not enough to really bother me.

I use two computers but only have room on my desk for one monitor. This device allows me to switch the single monitor back and forth from one computer to the other.

Was trying to use two computes in one location but had space issues, :not enough space". [...] to the Rescue with the Belkin flip switch. It works great. The only problem I have is when using audio sometimes you have switch back and forth a few times while audio is playing for it to recognize that the audio is playing. I only use the audio on one machine so I think I will just plug straight into the speakers and bypass the Belkin.

Comments about Belkin Flip 2-Port KVM Switch with Remote (USB):

I am a full-time out-of-state telecommuter and use this product to utilize a full-size natural keyboard and mouse between two laptops; my personal laptop and my employer-provided work laptop, taking up only one usb port on each computer. I don't use the monitor cables or the audio port, but it conforms to your needs. The product description is a little misleading; it promotes it by advertising the use of a big monitor and keyboard for your desktop and laptop computers. It doesn't mention the use of a mouse and [optional] audio ports. This is a flexible product. It doesn't matter how big the monitor is, you will have the same amount of "real estate" on your laptop screen as you do on a big monitor depending on the screen resolution.
