Its simple and effective. Works througout the house (basement and 2'nd floor) even though it sits in the family room. Was easy to set up although it was wierd for my second laptop. It pre configured to be secure - so that was a breeze. I had a tough time making it work with a different wireless software (odyssey) on my work laptop. So i have to switch it off and use windows to manage the wireless if i use my work laptop at home. It has a auto reset feature which reboots the router but then i find my laptop doesnt reconnect. Overall great value for the price.

I have set-up numerous home networks (even including manual set-ups). I was simply replacing an older Netgear 802.11b/g device with a device that supported 802.11n, so a new Windows 7 machine would work properly on the network. I set up the router as indicated by the cards attached to cables and the envelope the CD was contained in. I ran the CD and thought I had finished the install. However, when I clicked on a selection from the icon in the system tray, nothing happened. It would not open the router settings, open the manual, etc. I opened the manual via the CD only to find out the amber light on the router meant it could not communicate with my modem and that the router setup did not finish at the end of the install. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software (still same issues as above). I tried a series of different cables and resetting each device, but nothing seemed to fix the communication problem between the modem and the router. After about two hours, I decided to contact Technical Support. But, all of the support contacts in the manual are web addresses apart from an 800 number for Singapore. A lot of good a web address is if you cannot connect to the internet! Returning the device to Staples to purchase a brand I know is reliable!

I was apprehensive about what it could do for me, but found it was great with everything I needed it for... and setting it up to working order was extremely easy...just a matter of connecting...
I would not hesitate to recommend this Belkin Router for any user, experienced or not....I do not recommend very many items, but this is one I can recommend from my own experience!

Comments about Belkin N150 Wireless Router:

This router is extremely simple to set-up. The software installation CD does it all. Unboxing to internet connection is completed in under 15 minutes. My laptop drops the connection periodically, which could be a fault of the laptop and not this router. Rebooting the laptop or unplugging and replugging the router restores the connection.

I have verison dsl will this give me wifi to my wii xbox and ipod?
Asked on 6/29/2012 by Dana from Reading PA

          1 answer

          • A:

The short answer is that yes, this will give you wi-fi that you can use on your wii, xbox, and ipod. You will hook up this router to your Verizon DSL modem with an ethernet cord and then proceed with the set up process, after which you will have wireless internet. The long answer is that the speed at which the router will work will be dependent on how fast your DSL is. If you do not have a large bandwidth (how fast your internet is) then you may not be able to do certain things on your other devices, like watch movies in HD.

          Asked on 4/19/2012 by Anonymous

          1 answer

          • A:

Yes, as long as you have a constant DSL or cable internet connection, this series router will allow anyone with a smartphone to access using the phones WiFi connection. You may need assistance in programming your phone with this connection, however, due to the security features pre-installed on this wireless router. Your cell phone provider would be able to assist you with those features on your phone.
