I HAVE 9 OF THESE SET UP AND THEY ARE AN EXCELLENT WAY OF STORING FILING BOXES. THE ONLY DRAW BACK IS THAT THEY TAKE ABOUT 2-3 HOURS TO ASSEMBLE (THEY GET EASIER TO SET UP THE MORE YOU BUILD, AFTER BULIDING 9 OF THEM, I CAN ASSEMBLE ONE IN JUST UNDER AN HOUR). THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO ORGANISE AND STORE ALL YOUR CARDBOARD FILING BOXES. I DO RECOMMEND YOU PURCHASE THE "Fold-A-Tote 9-Gallon Storage Bins" TO STORE YOUR BOXES IN. THEY ARE MADE UP OF DURABLE VINYL WITH CARRYING HANDLES AND HELP KEEP OUT CRITTERS AND INSECTS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU STORE THEM IN A GARAGE OR OTHER STORAGE FACILITY.

I was disappointed in the product but assembled it anyway to see if it worked better than it looked. I was quite careful assembling it but found it to be too wobbly to consider using. The product must be secured to a wall to keep it from tipping over and this significantly limits its usefulness. Returned this product and purchased a 5 shelf stainless steel shelving unit with wheels for less money at a warehouse store. Staples really blew it on this product. The product is cheap and has significant limitations (e.g., lengthy assembly time, need to secure to wall to keep from tipping over, cheap materials, etc.) [...]

The unit looks kind of cheap, you get what you pay for I guess. The top of the screw heads stick out and get caught on the bottom of the boxes and rip them when you go to put boxes back or take them out. There is no full support for the bottom of the boxes like a flat surface, the boxes balance on the pvc pipe that goes down the center of each opening, some of the boxes slide around and don't stay in place as well as I would have liked. It also does not stand completely flat, it rocks slightly as if one of the pipes is longer than the other even though they aren't. The unit serves its purpose of holding 18+ boxes, it just doesn't look very nice or professional. Also, the system does not come with anything to put underneath it to prevent your floor from being scratched by the pvc pipes it is made out of so make sure you put some sort of pad underneath it to protect your floors.

If you store stuff in cardboard bankers boxes, you need at least one of these. I loved the first one so much that I bought another.

I have always stored holiday and household items in file boxes, but could never get them organized in my storage locker. This is perfect!! I have tripled my useable space. I live in a very small apt, and this is exactly what I needed. I can't lift heavy bins, but now that I have things in small file boxes I can always get to what I want! This storage unit DEFINATELY needs to be anchored to the wall. Great consept. We had boxes, boxes everywhere. Now they are neatly organized and easy to get to. It is a great solution to being able to retrieve boxes without lifting others to get to the one you want. Prevents boxes from getting crushed. Thinking about getting one for use in my garage.

  No - it must be fastened to a wall as it could tip over when one of the top boxes are removed. With all the weight it holds it would not be sturdy enough to roll around. If it was bolted to 1/2" plywood and you made a base it may be sturdy enough but I wouldn't chance it.
