I am a graduate student and I use these notebooks for two reasons. First, because the paper gauge is heavier than the typical notebook and secondly,I may want to refer back to these notes some time from now and so the notebook must be durable. I also like that the book lies flat which is helpful when notetaking. The binder and hard cover make for a durable product that seems to stand up to the stress of being in and out of a backpack. The notebook would be improved if it had more pages, as it stands I believe it only has about 90 pages which depending on the class is not enough for a whole semester so I usually end up using two of them. 150 pages or so would be perfect. Also the folder inside is kind of useless as it does not hold 8 1/2 x by 11 pieces of paper. Although I keep loose papers in a separate binder, when I went to put a standard size piece of paper in the pocket I had to fold it in half so it would fit. The black and red colors are aesthetically pleasing. Overall, this brand of notebook is worth the money if you have notes that you want to keep after the class is over. I think they would also make nice journals and I may buy some for such a purpose in the future.

Liked this when we first saw it. Ended up purchasing several more - no more edges of the folders getting torn off in the back pack, etc., Protects the interior papers.
