We needed a lamp to illuminate the writing surface of a desk. It is an attractive lamp and is made well. The pull chain makes it easy to switch on & off - no tiny knobs to turn, and your hands stay clear of the hot light bulb. The only change I'd make would be to improve the range of the light. In order to get the most illumination, the green glass guard needs to be tilted slightly upward, exposing the light bulb to full view.

I'd still recommend this lamp. It works very well and is nicely made.

Get what you pay for

Easy to assemble. The included 13W CFL is a bit dim; 60W incandescent (not included) works much better. Our green glass shade has several discoloration flaws.

    I use this lamp for reading in bed, on the computer desk and any regular desk. The green shade saves wear and tare on your eyes.

    I've used this lamp for over 25 years. Love it.

    My mother even conned me out of one years ago. She still uses it.
