Ribbon okay, product it goes in sucks!

The ribbons work fine, but the typewriter is lousy. I have problems with the word processor not showing what I have typed, the correction function sticks all the time, changing functions is complicated and time consuming. I liked my Smith Corona way better just wasn't able to find one in a hurry. When I find another Smith Corona, the Brother typewriter will enter the junk pile.

I now use Word on my laptop and my HP printer for all my printing. We do have an old Brother Word Processor that is fun to use every now and then, which would not be possible if we could not purchase ribbons for it. Thanks, Staples for continuing to carry this product after all these years, and it's still affordable.

I have been using these Brother film cartridges since 1991 and have had no complaints. They are well constructed. I like the fact that I get a warning when the cartridge is ready to run out of film. They are perfect for business run out of your home or small office. I think the price is reasonable for as long as the film cartridge lasts. It would be nice to have a Brother film cartridge that was not in black, but in red, or on the same cartride, interchangeable, i.e. you could change from black to red by changing a switch.

I primarily use my GX6750 to write journal entries and novels. My machine consumes a fair number of ribbons, about 4 per week. Periodically, the ribbon is twisted (right out of the package) and it sometimes jams and snaps in two. Staples has always been very good about exchanging the defective product for a new item. I simply present my receipt. Once I didn't have my receipt and the cashier was very helpful, exchanging the item anyway. Brother has, I believe, worked to improve the overall quality of their typewriters and ribbons over the years. I would, despite the problems mentioned, still recommend the products to a friend.
