Wears out much too fast!

This multi-function printer, copier, fax, scanner performs flawlessly, however, toner life, drum life, and waste toner cartridges have such a short shelf life and high replacement cost, it is cheaper to replace the printer then to buy 4 toners and a drum. I believe the whole industry is selling us quality equipment at a loss only to[*] us on replacement cartridges in the future. Very unprofessional way of doing business. When toners cost more then the whole printer, something is wrong.

Before drum replacement all copies had black spots on them like the toner was being drippled across the copy paper. After drum replacement the copies are perfect with no spots/specks anywhere.

Good quality
Except that it get damaged some how. I never take it out, but I have had 2 this is the 3rd since I purchased the copier. The last one didn't last long until there were black streaks and lines on it,. So, I had to get another one.

Q:
I recently replaced the toner for the cyan cartridge and when i put the cartridge back in the LCD display reads that i need to put the cartridge back in. I have replaced the toner in other cartridges without any issue before. I even tried putting a different color cartridge in the cyan slot and putting cyan elsewhere, and it still gave me the message. Could it be i just need a new drum, or is the printer just shot and time for an upgrade?

  Absolutey. Part of the process is removing and setting aside the existing toner cartridges for you to re-install onto the new drum assembly. The drum comes with very clear, easy to understand step by step installation instructions. You should have no problems doing this yourself. No tools needed!

I have the printer for 8 months and am still on the original toner cartridges. Now I am getting the message that it needs a drum. Have probably printed 2-3000 pages. I though the duty life was 17,000 pages. Is this a printer or drum defect?

Q:
My printer is printing a black line down the left side of every page printed. I've wiped down the belt and replaced all the toners. My printer sometimes says 'drum error', but after I pull out the drum and put it back it is fine. Do I need to replace the drum, the belt or both? I need to stop this black line from printing on my pages.

  This drum needs to be replaced every 17,000 pages. The drum transfers the toner from the cartridges and put the image on the paper. If you do not replace this as recommend your print quality will not remain consistent.
