Very Expensive for a Cheap Printer

This is the 4th 2240 I own in 7 months. Everytime it runs out of toner, the toner light lights up and never goes off. I have bought a NEW BROTHER replacement toner -- high capacity TN 450, substitute toner from Staples, substitute toner from [@], but it does not recognize any of them when you replace the cartridge. I never refilled any cartridge, so it should not invalidate manufacturer's warranty. However, Staples does not give you support when you're having trouble with printers, only computers. I only buy the printer when it is on sale for [$], but it ended up being too costly for me because I have to buy a new one everytime. I'm going back to HP.

    I purchased the printer for my boss to replace an all in one which was always needing ink. It worked out so well that when I saw the great price I had to get one for myself. It's quick, doesn't require ten minute warm up and it's quiet. It prints sharply, no jams and efficient by not using lots of ink. I print constantly and usually need copies quickly.

    Installation was extremely easy. I was prepared to pull out the cd and go thru lots of prompts to get started but much to my delight it took probably all of two minutes. No effort. Great printer

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      This printer works fine for my needs......I do not use this printer too often so I am not too familiar with all the wonderful features that were designed into this printer which I am quite sure would be great to use. Over all when I do use this printer it seems to work for me as my needs are not to fancy....so if you are a light user this printer would be good if you are a heavy user then this printer would be good too.. It only does black so if your needs are color then you most likely should not choose this particular brother printer.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
