This is the 4th 2240 I own in 7 months. Everytime it runs out of toner, the toner light lights up and never goes off. I have bought a NEW BROTHER replacement toner -- high capacity TN 450, substitute toner from Staples, substitute toner from [@], but it does not recognize any of them when you replace the cartridge. I never refilled any cartridge, so it should not invalidate manufacturer's warranty. However, Staples does not give you support when you're having trouble with printers, only computers. I only buy the printer when it is on sale for [$], but it ended up being too costly for me because I have to buy a new one everytime. I'm going back to HP.

I mostly use this printer to print coupons at home & it does a terrific job. Some people complain that it's loud & while it does make some noise, I've definitely heard worse. I definitely wouldn't describe the noise as disruptive. The printer warms up, prints & cools down very quickly. This printer provides great quality for an excellent price!

I purchased this product for my father who needed a new printer, it works for what he needs it for, but it's really loud, especially when turning it on and printing.

I would suggest purchasing a HP printer instead. Also if there is an issue with your product, I was informed by Brother that I would have to go to a service center to get it fixed, they couldn't just make it easy and send me a box, also if you get a replacement, it's prob a refurbished one (good luck)
