The Brother HL-2240D mono laser printer is a space-saving monochrome printer featuring impressive speeds and high resolution. The machine is capable of printing 24 ppm with a short 8.5-second wait time before it prints the first page. The included automatic duplexing feature means easy two-sided printing that saves paper. A toner save mode extends the life of toner cartridges and is ideal for materials that do not require a high resolution. The machine prints in black and white and works with a high-yield replacement toner cartridge that lowers operating costs. The printer comes with 8 MB of RAM and a 10,000 page monthly duty cycle that is great for small jobs printed on a consistent basis. Connect the machine to your network with a standard USB 2.0 cable.

It does envelopes very well, but it doesn't have enough guidance for sheets of paper. Things come out crooked. Which is really bad when printing checks. I put them in the regular feeder. Otherwise, just a super machine!

The quality of printing is fine, and the replacement cartridge should be more reasonably priced than some of the other laser printers. However, it is the most noisy printer I have ever used.

      This is my second Brother printer. Have had the 2270DW for two years and very pleased with the performance. Zero problems in setup, operation and printing quality. Wireless setup is easy. The toner lasts a bit less than I wished, but many of my outputs are graphics. The selling point for me was that the 2270DW and the 2240D use the same toner cartridge and imaging drum, so I only have to buy one type of each for either computer. Have not needed to call Brother support, so I can't say if they are helpful or not.
