      Ignore the reviews about paper tray problems. It works perfectly and automatically IF you install the latest driver and configure it correctly. When you open the box, throw out that driver disk. Instead, go directly to brother.com and download the driver there. After that, you need to set up the trays for the paper sizes you use (easy), then go into the printer properties accessories and select Auto Detect. So easy! (All instructions are readily available on brother.com) I get PDF attachments with a mixture of legal and letter sized pages...this printer chooses the correct size without any direction from me or any extra steps. Also, it prints super fast and crystal clear and I set it up wirelessly (no USB) and it worked like a charm! I'm so happy with this printer and I highly recommend it.

      Over the last 5 years I have purchased two Brother Laser printers and I do believe that I am done being a Brother consumer. The problem with both laser printers was that once ink cartridges were changed the problems of leaking ink began along either right or left side of the paper. I never used any cartridge that wasn't Brother, and it became a constant struggle to produce professional looking work with this kind of problem to say nothing of cost involved. Cleaning Machine, returning apparently defective cartridges,was a weakly event. Help from Brother was really of no value. I recommend purchasing the Staples warranty so you can return it the moment it gives you a problem. The $50 or $60 dollar investment in the warranty would be worth it. Goodbye to Brother for me.

      Replacing a six year old Brother MFC that gave years of trouble free duty. Using it in USB mode, haven't tried wireless. Works flawlessly-the only (very slight) drawback is the fans make noise when printing and for a while after in cooldown mode. Afterwards it's dead silent.

      BTW it comes in a huge box-I thought Staples sent me a refrigerator by accident.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      I had the 5370DWT prior to this one. This model seems to use more ink, which I am not crazy about. I also wish the top paper tray would also hold an entire ream of paper, as I do a large volumne of printing. It does print quite fast and the print quality is nice. Overall I am quite satisfied and would definiitely recommend this printer if you need to print both letter and legal sized.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

          I called tech support over and over and they kept telling me it was my computer for the printer not working. So I bought a new computer, it still does not print. In the middle of a print job, you have to manually feed it to keep the job going. They will not honor their warranty and just replace the printer, it is JUNK!

          Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

              Yes, you can. The manual indicates that you would use the printer driver preferences on your computer to configure the paper size and media type for each tray. You can also control this from the application's print dialog. All three paper trays support both letter and legal size paper.
