Nothing But Trouble
Pros: easy to use
Cons: Build Quality, sound quality, Print Quality, extremely loud and noisy, unreliable, paper jams a lot, toner reads empty when partially full., warranties not honored by factory

We bought the printer based on price and great reviews, but when we bought ours it has been nothing but grief, trouble and so loud and noisy it is difficult to be in the same room with this printer. Grinding and Squeeling noises or horrific and can't be fixed. Brother Corporation does not respond to customer requests. Twice we took it in for repairs and twice it came back not fixed. Do not buy Brother products, they have poor quality control to release a defective printer like this. If you want grief, buy a Brother. Print quality could be better. HP's products print better and are more reliable.

We use this black & white laser printer for our new product development. When we design a new gospel tract we have a lot of printing to do to test the document's layout, etc. This machine is fast, quiet, energy efficient and flawless. The high resolution printing is superb. The only minor problem we had when installing is we had to go to Window's Vista's control panel and select the Brother printing port. Other than that absolutely no problems. Paper capacity is large and toner is the high capacity size which we like. Also, toner use will give you thousands of pages before needing replacement, way more than other brands by far. You will be buying a quality product. We recommend it highly. We are very satisfied.

Bought this after my higher-end printer went down. Not as many parts to replace (toners, belts, drums) and works just as well. Prints quick enough and isn't as loud as some of the other ratings say.

I have two of this model. One I use for printing tax returns the other for printing payroll checks. Haven't had any problems. A little noisey but no big deal. The biggest con I find is the expense of the toner and drum.

Had all the features I was looking for. Too bad none of them seem to work well. To start the fan makes a high pitched whistle sound that will drive you nuts. The first day I had it the machine decided it wasn't going to print. Re-installed and still no luck. The manual feed didn't work at all.

Would not recommend this machine unless you have nothing else to do but play games trying to get it to work.
