I work for a non-profit and purchased this machine to save money. After I recieved this fax machine, in the first day it was making a high pitch squeling noise while feeding paper. It would also feed the paper sideways and cause it to jam up. I received 20+ transmission verification reports and if I wanted/needed a fax to go through I would have to hand feed it. I called Brother and troubleshooted with them numerous times until finally I sent it back and they sent me a "new one". This one had the same problems, so I sent it back and they sent me another one. This new one had the same problems and I called in complete frustration with no avail. I was told Brother does not offer any refund and the only other option is to send it in to be repaired, which I did. After getting the fax machine back from repair, it continued to have the same problem only it was now worse! I am now in the process of writing to a Customer Service Manager. I am writing this review as a warning and to save you the hassle that I have been and still continue to go through.

On my third one since middle of October. Constantly jams. it is noisy, but i could live with the noise,if it would only quit jamming up. Brother customer service says nothing wrong with product. i rate this (-2 stars)same for their service.

Staples was very quick in delivering the fax machine. they replaced it once for me within their 2 week period.and their service is 5 stars.its not staples fault.

This fax machine is the bane of our office's existence. I recently went to an office that ours faxes to frequently and they laughed at me and told me that most of the time a one page fax comes in 2 or even 3 pages with the image split up amongst them. Also if you want to fax two or three pages at once you need to babysit the thing for probably 5 minutes to be sure that while it is feeding the paper through the scanner at tortoise speed it doesn't take two or three at once. Save yourself the time and energy, Do Not Buy This Machine.

We purchased this as an upgrade to a Brother 1270 fax that we have used and loved for over 10 years! There is no comparison in these 2 fax machines. The 1270e pulls documents through crooked, crunches them up, and jams on about every 3rd fax. We have also had issues with the machine "eating" the cartridge film and ruining an entire new cartridge. All these problems, and we have only had this machine for 1 month!! I hope this stops someone else from making the same mistake we did.
