I have 2 printers...one inkjet and one laser. The inkjet is an All-in-One and I try not to use it to make b/w copies. Instead I will go through the extra trouble to scan the document and then print from the laser printer.

Ink is very expensive and I am constantly replacing the cartridges. I wish there was a way to refill them or even a Staples brand equivalent like I see with the HPs.

The quality of the inkjet is pretty good and seem to dry quickly on standard white paper but when I print business cards, I need to give it extra time to dry or else the cards will smear.

It's cheaper to buy in a 3-pack but I seem to always have extra yellow cartridges lying around my office.

Would I recommend this product? Well, you don't really have a choice if you have a Brother MFC-5440CN...because you are forced to buy replacement cartridges.

This product has almost doubled in price, while having the same short life. Color print quality is not that good, unless on "Best," which uses more ink and prints very slowly. No recycling market,which is bad for the environment. Too much ink used in "cleaning," which will take place just because the printer has not been used for a few days. When the printer senses the cartridge as "empty" substantial ink remains. You can "trick" the printer into sensing the remaining ink by removing and replacing the same cartridge, or turning off the machine. At least 10% more useage can be obtained this way, but it is a very deceptive tactic by Brother.
