Multifunction Printer
The MFC-8950DW is a 4-in-1 multifunction device, capable of printing, copying, faxing, and scanning. Output from the printer is in black-and-white only, with print and copy speeds of up to 42 pages per minute. Faxes can be sent and received from the device, with the fax operating at a rate of 33.6 Kbps. The scanner operates in color and is capable of producing high-resolution digital images of documents that can be saved directly to a computer's hard drive, scanned into a network folder, emailed, or sent to a remote location via FTP. For color prints or copies, an upgrade to a color laser printer is necessary.

Network Ready
The Brother MFC-8950DW is fully network ready, with the capability to be connected to either a wired or a wireless network quickly and easily. A wired network connection requires that the network be Ethernet ready, while a wireless network connection requires the presence of a wireless router running an 802.11 b/g/n signal. For connection directly to a computer, the Brother printer contains a USB 2.0 interface.

Mobile Device Compatibility
The MFC-8950DW can be used with a variety of mobile devices, allowing you to print documents directly from the device without having to transfer them to a computer beforehand. The printer is compatible with Apple's AirPrint technology, allowing it to be used with handheld Apple devices. The printer can also be used with Google Cloud Print so that you can send documents directly from the Cloud to your printer from anywhere in the world.
