This Brother printer can print on a variety of paper, up to 11" x 17". A fast all-in-one, the printer can produce up to 12 pages per minute using black ink or 10 pages per minute using color ink. Vivid Scanner

We have only run HP Printers in the office and we were having alot of issues with HP printers and were fed up with them looked at quite a few printers saw a demo on this liked the way it was built and how solid it felt (and it is not light to pick up) Was easy to hook up running in minutes and is very quiet you do not even know when somebody sends something to the printer. I like the fact it has (2) paper trays we fill the top one with envelopes and the bottom with paper now we do not have to tend to the printer. As long as Brother keeps up the quality of these printers they will have a repeat customer. - Side note the last all in one printer we got from HP gave us fits right from the start. So this Brother has already showed it up.

Installed easily but when I printed a color brochure - one that is not expected to be high quality but my HP printer does a fine job on, the print quality was terrible. Light, grainy, colors were washed out and there was banding. This was in "NORMAL" mode. I selected BEST and the print quality got marginally better - but still nowhere near as good as the HP. AND it is slower than the HP (even though its suppose to be 35ppm). The HP is an older 7780 which I HATE because of its constant adjusting itself - but its been reliable otherwise and I'd never be able to complain about its print quality. This Brother is incredibly bad for the money. I contacted support assuming I'm doing something wrong - nope! Latest drivers installed, nothing else I can do... it is what it is... returning the printer. The only thing I can assume with the other comments is they've not seen better quality to compare. Not criticizing - just can't understand how this could ever be considered anything but mediocre.

I bought this printer on the recommendation of Terry (Staples.com Customer Service). I do like almost eveything about it except the way the Fax works. If you have to call Brother Customer Service for any issues, you cannot call from your land line. I had a Brother MFC-9840CDW (color laser printer) and never had these issues. Brother told me that it is because the MFC-J6910dw has a touch screen--REALLY????? Another thing is that I cannot get the rear tray to work the way I want it to. It also has a slow recovery time after each print job. But like I said this printer is better that the other ones that I have tried in the past 2 months.

looked at lots of wireless printers before deciding on this one; I had a Brother MFC before this one and it never let me down in 8 years of use (had horrible experience with HP before that), but it wasn't wireless and I needed wireless printing so I could print from other rooms. That function works beautifully. Relatively easy to set everything up, although as with most user guides, the instructions didn't include all the caveats. But when I ran into roadblocks, it was pretty simple to find the answer online. It's quiet, the output is crisp.

The only issue that I see is if you set the machine up to use two differant sizes of paper at the same time, as too which tray you set as default.

Bought this for both home and office use, needed a wireless so we could print from our laptops and also needed a large screen area to scan, copy ledger size and sometimes 11 x 17. Tried to install with the cd and it kept freezing at a certain point, but it was very easy download from the Brother website. I would strongly recommend using the website download rather than the install cd. Really happy with the print quality, I haven't used the scan, copy or fax functions yet (I just set it up yesterday), but they will get used this weekend.

This printer is taking over for another older Brother MFC printer. It was easy to set up in our wired network environment. We have a small office but, we all have our own printers. This is the main fax machine and one of 3 color printers in the office. So, usage is not too high. It will be utilized more, in the future for bigger projects. I am excited about the duplex printer. I used it the other day, to test it. Works great! But, the ink jet vs. toner is quite a different look on the paper. Unless, I just need to darken up the print output? I have had it about a week now so, I guess I will get back to you. Overall, I like it for the price.

There is no mention of Mac compatibility.
