I have been using P-touch electronic labelers for about 25 years. This is the best labeler ever, but only slightly better than the PT-2700 that it replaces. One new plus is that the "CLEAR" function is now a separate key. Accepts 9/16", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" wide tape -- can't accept 1 1/2" wide tape. Although other labelers may list the ability to use similar width tape, this model uses more of the width for the actual letters, rather than merely having a bigger unused border. You have the important ability to change the width of letters while keeping the same height. Most people use black print on white tape; however, also try black print on clear tape and white print on clear tape. The reliability of the P-touch line is superb.

Use this to label dividers in a storrage box. Only draw back was the amount of excess label that comes out. I solved this by just pre-planning and typing most of my labels in one long strand with spaces in between. this cuts down on the amount of leading and trailing buffer that the machine insists on spitting out. Very intuitive and easy to use. My 9 year old daughter helped me label our entire comic book collection. Did not need to watch a tutorial or read a large instruction manual.

Units memory is wasted on fluffy, cutesie, designs intended to waste tape.
Useful settings, fonts and tape choices are limited to require an inventory of tape sizes.
Best results are computer edited, but require connection, as costom work cannot be saved or replicated on stand alone unit.

When connected to a PC via the supplied USB cable, the included Brother software provides an almost unlimited choice of fonts and graphics etc to make your label look exactly the way you want.

Purchased one for my wife's office downstairs and was so impressed I purchased a second one for my office.
