The Scan Feature was a little difficult to figure out at first till I realized you must RIGHT click to configure the scan tabs. Now PDF and Scan to email are a breeze!

This was a replacement for a previous Brother Laser all-in-one that succumbed to Hurricane Sandy and the havoc she wreaked upon the power grid.
I was so pleased with the first one that I wouldn't have considered another brand, and I was NOT dissapointed.
Installation was a breeze, as was set-up, and print quality and speed are excellent..

  No, this printer will not switch paper when printing different sizes from the same document. You would have to print the pages separately, designating them from the print settings dialogue.

Q:
Does this model work with a 64 bit processor? I have an 8460 and it works great but is not compatible with my new computers. Also, the 8460 has a bad problem with paper curl when it gets humid. Has this issue been resolved?

  When I researched your inquiry the only reference I was able to locate to a "bypass" in the Brother® Refurbished EMFC-8690dw Laser Multi-Function Printer was: The message "No Paper Fed “may appear on the display if the Brother machine is out of paper, the Photo Bypass Tray is not set correctly, the paper is not loaded properly in the paper tray or the jam clear cover located in the back of the machine, is not installed properly, or if the white PE Actuator is missing or isn't properly connected.
